San Antonio Sister Cities paired diplomatic engagement with business engagement to foster mutually beneficial business, trade, and professional exchange partnerships within their sister cities. In 2023, the sister cities program engaged with diverse volunteers and organizations. Volunteers played a key role in Mayor-led trade and cultural missions during 2023, particularly to Taiwan. The Mayor led a 5-person delegation to Taiwan, which included city officials and community members. The visit focused on sister city relationships and building business, cultural, and educational ties in Kaohsiung. The visit also celebrated four decades of sister city exchange and strengthening ties of friendship.
